Hello. Will I have trouble with piston to valve in my 87 iron head 350. The motor is re rung with the stock 87 iroc l98 pistons in it. I can use 1.5 rockers to keep lift at .520 I'd love to use 1.6's and have the .560 lift for when I put my afr 180s on the motor in the summer. Thanks Chris

 

No, you won't have any trouble even with .560 lift with that cam.
IVO event and opening rate are the parameters to look at, not max lift. The piston isn't near TDC when max lift occurs.
In any case, the numbers on that cam aren't anywhere close to causing an issue.

On stock heads, the retainers will never clear the valve seals with anything over .460 lift.
They will get smashed to bits with .520

 

True dat!
Although PTV isn't an issue, unworked iron heads won't cut it. I'd wait for a cam until you get the AFR's on it.

 

Might have to buy pay the $ to get my 180s assembled then money money money....
