excessive vibration at around 2000rpm
I have noticed that whenever I am running my car at about 2000rpm within 200 rpm above or below that my car seems to vibrate quite a bit. It feels almost like I'm going over a very textured road surface. This is in overdrive or drive. This is with stock transmission on a 1984 trans am with the H.O. engine.
I can't tell if it's an engine issue or maybe something else? Engine seems to be running fine otherwise. Maybe it needs a wheel alignment?
Last thing that was replaced on the front end were the ball joints. My mechanic said i didn't need a wheel alignment, so I am wondering if that assessment was incorrect?
cheers in advance guys.

its obviously a balancing issue some where. sometimes the balancing weights come off the drive shafts.
