Ignition switch interchangeable?
I'm swapping in a 88 auto with vats column into my 89 manual with vats. I've already done the starter enable relay bypass on my car. Can I use the 89s ignition switch on the 88 column?
the White one is from my 89.
Black one is from the 88. I didn't take the switch with me since it had the auto cable attached to it. Will that make a difference at all since my 89 is manual and doesn't have it?
Another of the 88s.

Re: Ignition switch interchangeable?
I swapped the ignition switches and got the lock cylinder in. The big plug on the harness is different though so I'm going to have to swap the old harness in. I can see where two wires are cut off though. Anyone know which wires these are?
I see where the white wire goes-just have to hook it back up
You can see where 2 black wires are cut off. Any ideas??

Re: Ignition switch interchangeable?
so I got the lock Cylinder in but something's wrong. I though they would only go in one way? I got it to go in flush but have to force it to go back in order to get the key out. its acting as if it's on even though it's in the off position and turning it forward is doing nothing. Any ideas what I did wrong?
