this is my second third gen and my first one was a SC w/o a tach so my question is how long does it normally take for the car to reach normal temp. after cold start, what RPMs should my car idle at, at what RPM's should my car shift gears at, and whats a normal RPM in OD w/ 2.73's..cruising at about 50-60mph.~~i was wondering all of this because my car takes for ever to reach about 2000RPM. Could the heat riser have anything to do with this (small hose that runs off exhaust manifold to intake)? Also, im pushing 3000-4000 in OD cruising down the road at about 55MPH. Is it my car or is my Tach. Wach? Thanks

at 80mph in overdrive and lock up my car runs at about 1800rpm, with the 2.73s.
It takes about 10 minits for my car to fully heat up, but in the summer only about 3-4.
Is your tranny slipping?

 

If your car doesnt feel like its reving that high at 55mph then your tach could be off. Mine is off by 500 rpm at 3000. At 3000 rpm mine is actually running 2450. My car with 3.42 gears runs 75mph at the actual 2450.
