Im trying to help my son with his 86 IROC that he put a carbed 350 in. Originally we set it up with the stock electric fuel pump and regulared return. That worked long enough to break in the cam. When we were running it to adjust the carburetor the electric pump stopped working before we could do anythin.

We swiched it to a mechanical pump with the same return. It built a little pessure 3-4 lbs then ran out of fuel and would build enough to fill the float bowls, start and run out. Tried a second mechanical pump with the same results. Any ideas ?
