Help!! Can't find where to install oil dip stick
After a very frustrating weekend of cutting stock exhaust out to install flow tech headers (dumb decision, but they were free. And somehow still not worth the install difficulty) I am unable to find where the oil dipstick tube is inserted into the block.
I really need help because I had to call into work today because of SO many issues with this "weekend install". School starts tonight, which my company pays for so I have an immediate need to fix today!!
Does someone have a pic of the location where it goes... There wasn't anything I could find prior in threads. These headers have the second pass side primary tube flow all the way behind the 3rd/4th primary tubes, so this is going to be a hassle to install and don't want to take apart all the header work.
Also, I still have the rear end swap to do today, as I now have to install the y pipe as the exhaust was still in full length from person I bought it from. So have a rear to swap at the same time. Going to auburn lt1 rear with 3.73. Disc.
I have 92 z28 TPI 5.0 convertible that got a weak 2.73 from factory.
Any help with pics, diagram of the area where to install, you would be a friend for life. James and crew to the rescue..
Ps: sorry for long post, but NEED TO WARN YOU ABOUT A NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE WITH ANITHER TGO MEMBER, PAUL COSTAS "short cut sleepin" of witch doctor motor sports. I thought he was a good guy however....
MADE VERY FALSE PROMISE!!! He had add up in November titled "fs tx 3.45 9 bolt". I wanted to purchase it from him but he was two hours away, after a couple months I told him my school sitch and that I'm building this car for AUTISM AWARENESS as I have two autistic sons, 4 and 2, so it's a big deal to me. He appealed to me and we connected. After 4 hour trip back and forth and after the headers went in at 2am last night, I jacked the rear for the install... I don't know why I trusted him so well not to dick me, but I had a 2.77.
I broke my iPhone last night trying to video the installs to help other members.. When I saw it was a 2.77 I angrerly jumped from under the car and my phone slipped from oil on the lash of the 2.77... Such a bad weekend. I have the 3.73 rear but running a t5 so... Looks like tranny soon from that heavy gear on t5.
Autism run that I was trying to debut car at is toast likely with all these dramas, but just getting past this and the car back on the road is all that matters... I just wanted to give heads up on dealing with this member. I feel betrayed, but God will have him answer for his deeds...

So lucky I had the extra rear or I would be really messed over considering the state of the exhaust. Can just run headers!! Just started it and sounds like a Harley convention
I will work on the rear until I get a pic or explaination from you guys.. Thanks

Re: Help!! Can't find where to install oil dip stick
Is it an issue to run the car without the dip stick.... ?
Dumbest question on earth I'm sure... Didn't see any from the start up and it ran long enough to get my neigh to complain

No you don't have to have a dipstick if you have some other way of verifying oil level, but you do have to plug that dipstick hole that you can't find or you're gonna leave one heck of a mess under the car and behind you.
