Ticking Noise Coming From Engine
Ticking Noise Coming From Engine
Now I have been told a few things that this could be and before I go acting on their opinions, I would like others' advice. Please watch the video and tell me your thoughts on what this may be. Anytime I crank the car, whether its hot or cold outside, day or night, it makes this noise. By the time I get home from work, or to work, (about 45 min drive) I can't hear the ticking anymore. The oil is full, I checked it yesterday.

Sounds like an exhaust leak, but depending on what type of oil you're using it could be a lifter knocking. That engine should be running 5w-30 and if you put something ticker in there, like 10w-30 or 10w-40, your lifters will knock until the car warms up.

Sounds like an exhaust leak. Once your manifolds heat back up and expand again the noise goes away. So manifold gaskets and or dounut gaskets at the y pipe

So what if I have been putting in the specified type of oil, then what could be the issue?
