I have a 92 rs with the 3.1 5spd.I disabled the vat. Cant the get the car to fire.it will turn over and crank but won't fire.I got it to fire with fluid but dies out unless I stay on the throttle.after staying on the throttle for a few mins it will stay at an idle until I shut it off then I can't get it to run again.

Also will not turn over unless the starter is wired straight to the yellow wire of the ignition switch.

 

It sounds as if the VATS interlock of the starter enable circuit may have been bypassed, but VATS was not satisfied in the ECM. The ECM must see the square wave signal (5KHz IIRC) from the VATS module to enable the fuel injectors. Unless the VATS flag is unchecked in the programming the system cannot simply be removed.

How was the system disabled?
