stock cam spec
Hey Im sure someone has posted the stock cam specs for an L98 but I cant seem to find then in a search on the archives hopefully they didnt get lost in the transferr from the old system. What Im wondering is what are the stock cam specs and what will they be with 1.6 roller rockers? so far Im back to stock intake system when I put the rockers on Ill be taking the intake off and porting it out on the base and runners as Ive gotten some people to show me how it was done (thanks guys) or is there a better cam to go with, in time (slow monetary flow) Ill have a 3.50 rear and a T-56 conversion. or will the stock cam with the RR's work good for now?
thanks

Well, I am going to assume you want the specs for a 1989 L98 since that is what the motor you have came from (89 Iroc).
1988-1989 L98:
Duration @ .050": 207* Intake, 213* Exhaust, Valve Lift: .415 Int., .430 Exh., 117 LSA
That lift is with 1.5 rockers, so if you go to 1.6 rockers, you would have .443 Int. and .459 Exh.
That is still a very tame cam........ But with stock heads you really can't go huge on the lift so buying a cam that will work with the stock heads might be a waste of time and money in the long run........ Since you are on a budget, I would save up until you can get heads that will compliment a better cam along with the higher flowing intake setup you end up with - and just run the 1.6 rockers for now......
