Possilby a dumb dipstick question!
So as my build progresses, I've kinda pushed back some easier/smaller fish.As I get closer to finishing, I need to address those things. For example, I need a dipstick. ....as I look on all the various websites, none seem to take into account what kind of oil pan you have. I have a moroso 7qt. so does that mean I need a special dipstick since the dimensions are definitely not stock? Logically I would think every pan would require a different dipstick based on how deep it was. ......or am I simply overcomplicating this.
....oh, and does it matter if it's driver side or passenger side? I'm assuming that refers to how the tube is bent, and how it bolts to a stock manifold or head bolt. All of which are NOT stock on my motor, so I'll have to rig something up, right?

To my knowledge all the after market oil pans are designed so that a stock oil dipstick will read correctly.

The dipstick is right or left depending on what block you have.
Most aftermarket dipsticks are close but not quite in accuracy.
I Put the correct amount of oil in the pan and then put in the dipstick. Remove it and put the new full line on the backside with a grinding disk if needed..

I went with the Lokar knock off offered by summit and the stick was shorter because the tube was shorter. I always figured it had to do with the type of engine and stick location.
