Need help with valve adjustment orientation...I'll explain

I've got a 92rs 305. I put new remanned heads on it and want to make sure I'm adjusting the valves correctly since the Haynes manual doesn't give great instruction. Standing infront of the car with 1,3,5,7 on driver side 2,4,6,8 on passenger side is the orientation like this-not the procedure:

1ei, 3ie, 5ie, 7ei
2ei, 4ie, 6ie, 8ei

The procedure in the book seems ok, just want to make sure I'm adjusting the right valves on the right stroke.

No that is not correct.

The valves are EIIEEIIE on each side. (the 2 sides are identical... after all, the heads interchange)

If the Haynes manual is that incorrect, let's review which valves get adjusted at TDC #1 compression.

At TDC #1 compression adjust the following valves:

Exhaust: 1, 3, 4, 8
Intake: 1, 2, 5, 7

Turning the crankshaft one rotation so that the timing mark lines up at zero-degrees (TDC #6 compression) adjust the following valves:

Exhaust: 2, 5, 6, 7
Intake: 3, 4, 6, 8
