What does this wire go to?
Hey guys this is my first ever 3rd gen and the wiring is a bit questionable to say the least. Items are cut, unplugged, crap added and then cut...so I will have many questions. I have attached a picture of a wire thats located near the AC system. Also, the second picture is located under the drivers side air duct, not sure what that hole is or is something should be on the hole. Thanks guys.

It would help to know what year and model, and the engine type. It appears to be a TBI without air conditioning.
The electrical connector could be intended for various things, including options that are not installed on the vehicle.
The opening over the exhaust manifold heat shroud is probably for the EFE preheat system. There should have been a foil/paper tube connecting that to a similar opening on the underside of the snorkel on a factor air cleaner housing. Replacements are about $3-4 in most chain parts stores.

The green connector is the "test point" for measuring the mixture control solenoid dwell.
The other wire looks kinda like it might be for the O2 sensor.

Its the 1984 z28 HO. L69. It has the ac, someone had told me it could just be a testing port. I thought that it must connect to the duct as it feels like that has a smooth piece of plastic under it that feels like it is covering a hole that that piece would go in. Thanks guys! I am sure I will have plenty of questions in the future and really appreciate the help!
