No not another cam question!
No not another cam question!
Ok so I have searched and read through tons of info on Cam's and what all the numbers mean. So based on that and what I am trying to do, plus some guidance from Comp Cams I have came up with the 08-304-8 comp cam. So I just wanted anyone's opinion that may have used or is using this cam, or just knows a thing or two about what will work. Or if you think a different cam would be better. So lets start with what I have. I have a 91Z with a 91 L98 from a corvette so it has the better heads and 10:0.1 compression from the factory. What I have done to it is ported the intake, heads and runner tubes, added headers, 3" exhaust from collector on back, and 1.5 roller rockers. Everything else is stock. All I want is for it to have a little more lope sound at idle with out turning it into a drag car. Because it is a TPI low end performance is good. Could always use better top end but I know that's always a challenge with TPI. And yes I will have a chip made for the specs.

That cam is decent but wont really lope.
08-422-8 would be better for abit of lope and performance
Or 08-502-8 would be bit less lope with slightly wider lsa than above

Re: No not another cam question!
Dont get me wrong it will work fine
I completed one car using a lt4 hotcam equivalent and it was touch lopey but the exhaust was very quiet so cam sound was masked
Got another L98 cam only deal to tune soon, after get the exhaust done. Its i believe a 218-224 110 grind i mentioned before. Seems like a great cam for it but we'll see
You can go with the cc304 cam but its pretty mild sounding on a 114 lsa

It wont change the power to much. The short duration on that wont have alot of top end anyway. Tpi isnt a high rpm deal

I have the 304-8 and its not bad but I would go with the 305-8 if I was doing it again.

Re: No not another cam question!
It ran ok without any tuning but I did a mail order tune from PCMforless. But I am currently looking at switching to EBL Flash as I think it could be better.
