FYI ... Rice is when you modify your car to LOOK fast but in reality it is slow. I dont know how you can consider that rice when it goes on a 3rd gen camaro ... even with a stock 5.0ltr, its faster than majority of the stock cars on the road. Ok, so yeah it completely changes the look of the car ... to more of a european or japanese look, but is that really bad? I think that kit is great ... something that really stands out thats built on a platform we all love and love to modify ... 3rd gen fbody's. Maybe the kit might not be for YOU, but that dosnt mean you gotta put it down.
Personally, I really like that kit. I'm not too happy about the rear end of the car, but I plan to change the taillights anyway. Its gonna be a while before I would drop 6k on that bodykit, but yes I do plan to get it. Before I put on the kit, I want to make sure it can back up the looks ... turbocharged lt1. Yes, it will be a while hehehe. I know before the end of the year I'm going to have the K1 interior kit in my camaro.

They make that kit look really good in those pics at least. I've seen pictures of one at a car show in CA however. Either the guy that put the kit together did a really lousy job, or it has horrible fit and finish.

I saw one of those. It was hideous, but I'm sure it depends on the intellect (and budget) of the builder. The one I saw had all of the panels held on with RTV, still had the stock camaro interior except for 2 red stripes painted onto the top dash pad, and had the 2.8 under the hood. And they had a writup saying that it was worth in excess of $35k.
What a major piece of **** car. I'm sure that they're not all that way, but seeing that one left a major sour taste in my mouth.

HAHAHA!! Look its the Honda Camaro AWD 1.8L TT putting out 112HP!!!!!! VTEC has done it again! That body kit is a joke! It doesn't make it look mean, it doesn't make it look like a muscle car, it doesn't make it look like an exotic car, it makes it look 110% PURE RICE! Those headlights even look like they came right off a new civic or a honda prelude. For the price you could make your car look so much better and be so much faster. Get yourself a nice built 355, 17" chrome rims with some nice wheels, 4" cowl hood, and an amaizing paint job and your car would look 10x better than that POS and it would be even faster with the extra money you could use for engine work.

Read my post in the 'Am I going Rice?' thread. Maybe then you might begin to understand why someone would want to put that kit on their car. And just to let you know, when Im done its not gonna be a AWD Honda Camaro 1.8TT pushing 112hp ... its gonna be a 92 Camaro z28 5.7TT (LT1) pushing upwards of 600+ rear wheel horsepower with 17x9 in front and 17x11 in the rear (polished 3 piece lightweight aluminum), 13" big brake kit all around, beefed up T56, carbon fiber driveshaft, bulletproof rearend, complete SCCA oriented suspension, and that bodykit. So dis how it looks all you want ... i'd love to race you down @ the tracks after im done.

.... I didn't mean to say **** any1 off but I'm saying I think that makes it look just like a honda or some *****. I got a camaro because I liked the look.. if I wanted it to look like those kits I would have gotten a geo and put the kit on that.

Geez people. It's not a "body kit". It's a "kit car" that uses a Camaro as a foundation. Just like the thousands of kit cars out there that uses a Fiero chassis, or a Mustang chassis. It was never touted as anything but an Evoluzion. Some people enjoy building exotic looking cars, but maybe they can't completely fabricate a chassis or don't want to. Not everyone is equipped to completely fabricate a car from start to finish, so why not use another car to get the important stuff that's already been set up by experienced and degreed engineers out of the way? I can think of worse cars to base a kit car on.
I'm pretty sure anyone seriously building such a car, didn't start out thinking "I want my Camaro to look like this." I think they started out thinking, "I'd like to build a car like this." and purchased a cheap Camaro skeleton or even a complete car to serve as the platform.
There's a definite difference between those two mentalities.

So is the basic train of thought here that people put bodykits on their cars or do body mods because they dont like the car? It just dosnt make sense to me. Why would anyone buy a car they dont like so they can spend thousands to put on a bodykit? Does that make sense to you? I'm trying to understand why everyone here is so dead set against bodykits or body modifications.

I have to say I agree with 86transamTPI. I change stuff in my car because I don't want my car to look like everyone elses. Mine is a beat up old 91 and it is still a head turner. Most of my friends drive ricers because that is the trend. I love pulling into the parking lot and looking out of place. I know my car might not be the most expensive one out there but I know I could whoop them!! I like the evo kit for what it is and that is a euro style car with a GM heart.
Yoh, for all those "haters" out there i say BACK down, and respect the individuality of a car and its owner. Sure someone may not have the same style or forte as you... but that doesnt mean you have to go knocking. I've seen some SWEET rides and some PRETTY lame rides, and on both of these types the people that tend to own these vehichles are among some of the tightest people i know. Bottom line is, atleast the person is hardcore about their car, and the fact that they are driving a domestic. No wait thats not even the point, the point is they love their car. So, dont even bother bein all negative n ****. If you've got constructive critiscism sure go for it some tips/pointers by all means, but if all you're going to do is cut something down you're only making an *** outta yourself.
Oh, and by the way I dont like that kit But im proud they made it for the f-body and not something else, because it's another tribute to the vehichle a living legend... one which is about to soon die.

I am sure someone who has a perfect Camaro with no body damage would put this on their car. Get real guys (some of you), this is not a body kit, it is a damn kit car! The makers just thought that the F-Body platform would be the best to build over due to a few factors:
1: You can find an old POS 82 with rusted through body panels, crappy engine, bad rear end, blah blah blah, for a few hundred bucks
2: The aftermarket for F-Body bolt ons is pretty large, so making the car actually go fast isnt too difficult.
3: The suspension has capability way beyond what it is given to us stock, so the "kit" car will be able to handle with the best of the real euro cars.
Those are a few reasons I can think of why they chose to use the F-Body platform, anyone got any else? Would you rather see an F-Body frame got waste in a junkyard, or see it "restored" in the form of a kit car?
Also, how can you possibly call this rice? Rice is a car from Japan, its a figure of speach, and this car has absoultely no Japanese influence, it looks very European to me.
