simple header and cam setup

hi i dont have a firebird but i got a truck with a 91 firebird tpi l98 350 v8 that id like to do some upgrading on. ill be pulling the motor soon and bringing it to a friends machine shop to get it cleaned and rebuilt. i dont have performance plans for the truck just a solid running thing.

but i want to add some small hp gains and was thinking about upgrading a performance cam-shaft and headers. can someone recommend a good header and camshaft combo? not looking for top quality racing parts like i said small gains, camshaft with a little bit of a bigger lift, headers with a little bigger diameter and with potential to work good with some future bolts (such as throttle body, intake, fuel).

having a hard time finding parts not interested in doing too much research. just need some recommendations thanks.

also would like to know what the lobe lift specs are on the factory camshaft for this engine.

that sound good.

says i cant run stock valve springs with the comp cam though. Can i run stock valves with aftermarket springs? i should prob get new springs and valves right?

comp cam's website also says you need to have the head machined?

Re: simple header and cam setup

You always get springs to match the requirements for the cam you run

Never run stock springs on anything but the stock cam
