fNord Guru's need some help identifing 390 and 390 intake.

Hi, my brother has a 69 fNord truck 390 and I think I found a 4bbl intake for it at a pick-n-pull. These people that work there dont know squat and my brother cant Id the manifold (not a gear head) and he's got the truck burried in the garage under hundreds of boxes. The engine that this manifold is sitting on is not market but is large engough to be a 351c, 390 or 400mbf. Any suggestions how to Id this engine or measurements for a 390? If this is a 390 manifolds are very rare and we miss out its gonna suck.
Thanks!

390s were as common as dirt back in their day, but I guess most of them have been melted down by now...

The most visible feature I can think of is that the intake manifold includes part of the rocker gallery. That's right, the valve cover flange is partially on the intake mainfold. However, the same is true of all the other FE block motors (312, 313, 352, 360, 360, 390, 391, 428 and probably a few others I don't recall) and some of them have different deck heights and therefore different intake manifolds.

The most common place to find them is in late 60s through early 70s trucks, like about 66 to 72, like the truck in question. They came in alot of cars too but not as high a percentage as the trucks.

A 351C has the fuel pump bolts above and below the pump body, rather than side by side. A 400 Modified looks the same from the outside as the C motor but has the C-4 bell housing pattern instead of the old medium-case Cruise-O-Matic that the Cleveland had (that being the "modification"). The Windsor motors (260, 289, 302, 351) all look pretty much the same from the outside. They have the fuel pump bolts side-by-side.

The 352/390/406/410/427/428 all share the same deck height so all of those manifolds should fit fine. The only thing I can think of that they put the 360/366/391 engines in is the heavy duty trucks and those might be different but I'm not positive of that. Like RB said, its easy to identify the manifold, its under part of the valve cover, and its heavy as hell.

Thanks for the replys guys.
Im still not too sure about this intake though. From what I remember the 390 intake is freaking huge and does incorprate part of the valve cover and weighs more than both of the heads combined. Im gonna try some ford sites to see what I can dig up. Ive only seen one other 390 with a 4bbl intake before so there very rare at least around here. I wish fNord was as simple as chevy, cant go wrong there.
Thanks again.
