what do these items mean on my scanner?

what are o2 cross counts? reads 71

whats the differance between knock sensor and knock retard.

mine reads 213 knock retards. 0 degrees knock retard

idle air mtr position 86 steps?

O2 crosscounts are the number of time that the O2 sensor volatage has transitioned between rich and lean...450mvs, IIRC.

Looks like your scanner adds the total during the scan time.

Your knock sensor is the device that measures knock, located on the pass side of the block, knock retard is the amount of timing removed by the ESC.

213 knock retards? I'd guess this means that your scanner is displaying the total number of knock counts the ECM is receiving.

Idle Air Position is is where the IAC valve is at. The IAC controls idle speed.
