Is a LT1 cam a direct swap???
Is a LT1 cam a direct swap???
I am looking to have a LT1 Camshaft, rollers, and lifters installed in my LO3. Is it a direct swap? How much should I expect to pay a shop to do the swap?

It's almost direct... the only thing is, little dowel pin in the end of it is too long, it's long enough to go all the way through the timing gear and get to the Opti-Spark, and will rub on the timing cover of the older-style motors. It has to be knocked in somewhat to avoid this. Other than that, it's a bolt-in.
I have no idea how much you will have to pay somebody to swap a cam. It's probably a 8-10 man-hour job, at whatever shop rate, which is probably somewhere in the $50-60 range. Expect $400-450 of labor. Don't go with the low bidder; use somebosy that does this sort of thing (performance mods specifically) alot, like a speed shop, not Joe's Garage unless Joe is one of your local circle-track racers with a winning record.
