Sounds like maybe your brake lights are causing an electrical problem. Check the pedal area for hanging wiring and try pulling the brake light fuse.... some places to start.

Welcome Aboard!

Good advice on the brake lamp circuit. If that does not result in a resolution, look for loose wiring, components, connectors or harnesses. Inertia may be contributing to the problem, causing wiring to move forward on deceleration and either break a connection or chaff against a ground briefly.

I had a Fiero that would fall on its face during braking and come to life right after that - The fuel pump was disconnecting during decel and braking.

Make sure you've got a ground strap between the engine, and the body of the car.

Wouldn't be the first time I've seen a car that didn't have one, and the body was being grounded through the engine mounts---until the engine shifted, and ground was lost.

Not sure how that would cause loss of accessories but the engine still runs fine.

If it was the other way around, though...
