LT1 corvette/impala heads
I saw some on ebay:
Do you think I could throw those on my engine?
On consignment, a nice clean set of bare 87-up (1995) Chevy Corvette/Impala SS cast iron LT1 reverse flow Vortec heads. They have screw in studs, and were ported and polished. Originally on Police Impala, SS, and some Corvettes. Codes are 10125320 date code A 1 95. sized for 1.94/1.50 valves.

there was never a police impala with the LT1. the caprice came with it, but the impala wasn't a police car. the heads on the corvette and f body were not cast iron for the LT1 so they are also not LT1 corvette or f body heads. LT1 is not a vortec engine either. as for putting LT1 reverse flow heads on your 305, not worth the time or money involved.
BLX,
Zippy is correct on all four counts (damn, he's good!)
The cast iron LT1 heads are actually a little better for flow than the earlier LT1 aluminum heads (1993-1994). They might bolt up to your block, but the cooling passages won't line up with everything necessary (intake and all). On top of that, the smaller bore of the 305 won't accomodate the larger valve sizes very well, and interference with the deck is very likely.
Aside from that, the seller on eBay doesn't really know what he has. The casting number is correct for LT1 iron heads, but the "'87-up" statement isn't correct. Iron headed LT1s weren't made until 1993. And if the heads were ported, they were done poorly since they still have stock valve sizes (1.94/1.50). These heads do flow very well in raw form, and respond well to porting and valve enlargement.
Unfortunately, they aren't a good match for your 305, other than the chambers are almost small enough to maintain good compression. The special intake bolt pattern and cooling jackets won't be worth the trouble, especially considering the price of some aftermarket heads that already flow well.
