Stock 2 bolt main? I'd say maybe 600 hp depending on rpm. Caps will walk with alot of power and or rpm. Internals will need to be strong. At very least good rods.

Don't worry about the power, quest put together a good working package. That's what it's all about.

Re: How much power can i make

You can do studs on the mains for more strength but i have seen guys make well over 700-800 hp on stock block with boost. I made 600-650 on spray on my old 4 bolt 383. Good crank and rods helps.

If you hard fill the block i have seen some guys push near a 1000 hp with turbos. All depends

Block is generally good for most hardcore na street setups and mild boost/nitrous use

I have twisted that same shortblock 6,200 rpm in my 1997 Express van.

Once you upgrade the valve springs and cam it will scream even with the stock heads.

You could squeeze a good bit of power out of those stock vortec heads with a hyd roller swap. Something decent size and a ported dual plane intake. Rev to 6000-6200.
If you head swap for bigger heads and intake, i'd spin it to 6500

I had a Lunati version of the LT4 Hotcam called the Bare Bones. It had similar specs to the Hotcam and made great HP and TQ with great street manners.
