Poor Acceleration and Bad MPG
Hey guys, I have an 89 Firebird 305 TBI and I have been having poor acceleration and terrible gas mileage. I already checked all the spark plugs, changed the fuel filter, checked the MAP sensor, tested the PCV valves, and checked for vacuum leaks wherever I could reach. I used the starter fluid method as well as the soapy water method. Do you guys have any other ideas of what the problem could be or know any super cheap DIY smoke machines for testing for vacuum leaks? Thanks.

Have not checked it, but it doesn't really have any symptoms of a burnt rotor, and I forgot to mention above that I did check the EGR and it is not stuck and functions properly.

poor acceleration and crappy MPG are some of the KEY symptoms of a wearing rotor before it gets to the "miss" but hey, whatever floats your boat.
pulling any codes from the computer?

For a cheap smoke machine you can get a cigar light it and then stick it to the brake booster vacuum line with the engine running and let it smoke most of the cigar and then shut the engine off and look for smoke

I didnt even think to check for codes, but i did and pulled these codes:
34: MAP Sensor circuit error (signal low indicating high vacuum)
43: Knock Senor error
44: Oxygen sensor error (lean condition indicated)
