Need help figuring out what type of camaro i have
Hi,
i bought a 1984 z28 camaro off the original owner, who lived on the native american reservation. It had sat since 89, and the guy didnt know much about it. He was like 80 years old. My boss thinks, because of my vin, that its because it was the 13th made that year. I tried searching the net to find one that looks like it, but with no luck. Can someome shed light on this?
it has original trim paint on the center of the hood, trim on the stainless steel too, and you can make out a faint outline where the chevy bow ties used to be too. I included a pic of one that looks like mime, but with out the stuff. Thanks a ton.
Also has red louvers
The normal 84 z28 off the net

The trim looks to me like someone had some stainless sheets laying around and some brass trim and possibly a few adult beverages. Other than that you have a great foundation of a H.O. 5.0 z28

Just at a quick glance , with how poorly fitted the corners of the frame around the metal are , there is of course no way any factory would let a "rare edition" out the door looking that bad . The waviness of what should be straight lines is another tipoff , along with the punch in the face fact that it's all in all pretty darned ugly , I agree with J Buchanan , a few TOO many adult beverages went into the creation of , , that .

Now that you've figured out that it's just a regular '84 Z28, please do all us a favor and remove those hideous brushed aluminum panels ASAP. I'll guess that it's just double sided tape holding them on.

Some awesome double sided tape.... oh... its a white washer and rivets...... MY BAD.
What?! MORE RIVITS?
Original double black whit white trim.... hmmmm
WOW PERFECTLY PLACED, EXCATLY THE SAME TRIM ON MY F'N HOOD. THIS DUDE MUST HAVE BEEN AMAZING
This guy must have been AMAZING, more of that SAME EXACT FACTORY TRIM AROUND, ON, AND INSIDE THE STAINLESS STEEL.... WOW, WHAT AN AMAZING GUY!
Oh that double sided tape thing... ITS PROFESSIONALY SEALED.
Hmmm, must have been the worlds best body man
Ok,
i really dont need popmus, condescending comments and dumb *** memes. I came here to ask, cuz you people were knowledgeable and friendly according to my boss. I work at jiffy lube. Yeah, not much experience with cars.
so, let me rip your bs comments, that i bet you laugh at with Allll your eperience, to shreds.
sorry i actually went to college, so i will put it in a numeric list.
1. The original trim, that follows the orange tape strip, is on the hood PERFECTLY placed around the "V". It also is PERFECTLY following the brass and stainless panel. Huh, must have been a reaaaaaalllllly good tape guy. I never saw that before. On a F'N 1984 z28 camaro.
2. That snarky comment about the panel being held on by double sided tape? ACTUALLY, its rivited on ON THE INSIDE OF THE BRASS MOLDINGS, AS WELL AS HAVING WHITE PLASTIC WASHERS. OH, ALSO, it has been sealed as well.... this body man must have been amazing huh?
3. In 1984, the body man, amazingly, was able to edge a chevy bowtie on BOTH sides semetericly PERFECTLY THE SAME. WOW.
4. I bought it from a 80 year old native on a farm, who knew nothing about cars, everytging is original, and a dmv check says he was the only owner.
SO your condescending comments are retarded. Heres more pics proving my point. And i did call chevorlet customer support, and gave em my vin, and they are researching it. I. WILL. let you condesending people know what they found out later today.

Chill out dude, no one is knocking your car, just giving you their honest opinion on what you had a question about. Not everyone likes the 2nd gen inspired decals on mine some do. If I post pics of my car and ask for opinions I prepare myself for what I have asked for. Your boss is right, folks on this site are very nice, they are also honest. If you ask for opinions you are definitely gonna get them around here. We are very passionate about these cars heck some of us name them. Relax and take the good opinions with the bad. Lots of help to be had here.

You need to chill out Jiffy Lube Kid.
Do they not teach punctuation and capitalization in college anymore? Sheesh.
That is tragically not original equipment. It just isn't.
A good pin stripe guy or body guy could EASILY do that. He wouldn't want to. But he could. That stuff is child's play frankly.
Mitch Kim's shop is near mine.... for example:

You are certifiably delusional if you think that horsh*t is factory. No..... just No.

Yep. As suspected not a factory special edition.... Some serious quarter-assery from a dealership.
That's just wrong.
I guess since it was an advertised dealer rebadge it might be worth something to somebody.
On second thought.... no probably not.
Reminds me of the story about the Ford dealer that couldn't sell the new Escort so took it upon themselves to rebadge them as the "Tuarus II"..... Attorney general had to shut that down as false advertising.
Unfortunately the manufacturer has no control (or very little) of what a dealership in the US does to cars once delivered. For all intents and purposes the dealership owns the cars and can do with them as they like. Including half baked things like the above pictured "Silver Bullet Edition".
