neutral safety switch

is there anyway to bypass the nuetral safety switch in my 89rs (305 tbi).

Sure. pop your center console off to expose the shifter underneath. Note it has a bunch of wires coming off it. 2 of them will be larger than all the others, probably purple and gold but that may vary in different years. Clip them, and crimp them together with a connector.

Of course..this procedure is not recomended for safety reasons...proceed at your own risk

On mine they are Green/White and Purple, but like Jester said, they may vary. I just wanted to give you an idea of some colors. Use a test light or meter to make sure.
