Baffled
Just put car (1986 Z) back together. Had motor rebuilt at Napa. Converted to 5 speed from Auto. Removed emissions. Blocked off 9th injector. Had a chip burned for all of these mods. Ran decent at first then went erratic and hard to start or run. Put OBD1 on it and it said bad PCM. Had it re-burned and now it says IAC bad. Replaced it and no difference. Disconnected and it ran better but heavy fuel? Tried to get timing in and it’s seems to only run went TDC is on plug 8 instead of 1? I put timing mark back on 0, plug at #1 and #1 was verified at TDC now it won’t start until I twisted cap to #8 plug. Any ideas where to go next? Thank for ANY HELP you guys can provide.

Re: Baffled
Start over at square 1. Pull the #1 plug, find TDC, restab the distributor, verify the firing order/plug wires, reset the timing (you're disconnecting the EST, right?), set minimum air if needed, set TPS, disconnect the battery for 30 seconds to reset the ECM, and try again.

Re: Baffled
Thanks, I’ll try all of this this weekend. Heading to PRI in Indy! I found a bone head error with alignment and didn’t try the battery disconnect to zero out error code. Thanks for quick reply.
