Hello everyone I am new to thirdgen I've been searching for answers to my question but yet I cannot find them. I am looking to wake up the little 5.0 I have at the moment I will build a stronger bigger engine in the future but for now this will do. So I have a 305 tbi with the 5 speed manual transmission. I have an edelbrock intake I want to install and I want to know what all do I need to install from the bolts to the distributor (also is there a link that teaches how to install distributor) I am also installing a double timing chain, hooker headers with dual exhaust, bigger efficient water pump, aluminum radiator, new clutch and I already have 3.73 gears my main concern is what do I exactly need to do the intake swap.

 

Is the manifold you have for a TBI or carb?
Should be able to just reuse all of the bolts and hardware unless you want to get a bolt dress up kit
As for the distributor the best thing to do is to remove the cap and turn the motor by hand until the timing mark is at 0 and the rotor in the distributor is pointing at #1 (5 O'clock position). Once it's in this position you can remove it and will be able to reinstall it per the oem instructions.
