Do I stick with my engine or not?

I have an 88 Camaro iroc z that has no powertrain at the moment. My current Camaro is an 85 with a 305 in it but it has 350 heads and "upgraded" fuel injectors. I am torn between keeping my 305 or buying a 350 because I will stroke either one with a 383 kit. The cost between the two is about $100 difference. Im not looking to make 500+ hp; just want to make somewhere between 300-450 hp and a max of 480 lb torque. My 700r4 will hold up to 650 hp and 600 lb torque so a drivetrain is not an issue. All I want to know is can 305 block withstand that kind of hp if so, I'll probably go 305 for convenience; if not, then I know a guy with 3 350s for me to look at. Remember Im not looking for a 11 second build, just want something to put in the car so I may sell my 85 but I want more power than what Im making now which i dont know but im confident its 200+ hp already but not near 300.

If your just going to flip the car then any motor that doesn't smoke will do the job and your wasting money rebuilding. Most pick a part boneyards will have a guarantee on their $200 used motors. Hard to beat that.

Good luck.
