two starting problems in one
two starting problems in one
I have a suzuki wagon R+ 1998 auto petrol. It only starts 10% of the time. An AA man was checking for a spark because I could not hear the fuel pump going and the car cranked over but seamed to have no spark, but as he was testing it, the car started when we tried, but he had found nothing wrong with it, I let it run for 20mins then stopped and started it a few times ok, the next day though it didn't start, it would only crank. The next day it got towed to the local garage, where it started again no problem when they tried it, so i went to collect it, but this time on going to leave I could hear the fuel pump, but on turning the key nothing happened not even cranking ( i did feel a slight tingling from holding the key whilst turning it) I left it with the garage to repair again, they had to push it out the way of something the next day and when they tried it started again, so they gave it back to me with my bill. Today first time of using it, it would not start, no fuel pump sound and only cranked over (no battery problems, it has a new one). Please help

Hi Goth Lady. Welcome to TGO.
As this forum specializes in third generation (1982-1992) Chevrolet Camaros / Pontiac Firebirds only, you may not find a lot of advice on your Suzuki.
My son has a Suzuki Grand Vitara, and I've had luck finding info on http://www.suzuki-forums.com/.
You might want to try posting your question there if you don't find your answer here.

This is a forum dedicated exclusively to 1982 through 1992 Chevy Camaro and Pontiac Firebird cars only . That's the reference to "third gen" in the name , 1982 / 1992 was the third gen of the GM F body cars .
If there are Suzuki specific forums you may find someone there who knows your ride well enough to offer some advice . It does sound that someone familiar with your Suzuki will need to be familiar with it's electrical system in particular since your problem sure sounds like an electrical one with your description of sometimes hearing the pump (when it runs ) and not hearing it when it don't .
I wish you good luck with it ....Dave beat me to it by 3 minutes , and with a nice Suzuki forum link too , good work
