ok.. the guy that built my engine said he set it at tdc for me so I can put the distributor on.. he marked the balancer in yellow where it lines up.. it actually seems to be at 1 degree or between 1 & 0.. if I put the distributor on and have it pointing to number one it shouldn't really matter right? I have to set timing to 8 degrees advance anyhow with the new edelbrock 6085 heads..

 

yeah if the marks line up on #1 compression stroke drop the distributor in and the rotor pointing to the #1 post o nthe cap. all you need is for it to fire up and run then you can set the timing with a light whereever you want.
