plug this in vehicle won’t atart at all

hey guys, i’m not a mechanic, i am learning a lot of stuff as i go but i am a bit stumped. the car had a a lot of issues, 92 firebird 305 TBI. the guy i bought it from had someone try and steal it and busted the steering column and instead of fixing it .. he ran a hot line to the starter on a push button .. got all that fixed, went slowly through the electric lines.. then found the car would start intermittently.. it had a long crank time start, 8-10 cranks.. but when it starts it would run smooth and sexy.. powerful. idled perfectly.
problems started when the car would warm up, i would shut it off and it wouldn’t start, no matter how many cranks. i would spray in a little starter fluid and it would kick right over.. so i was thinking fuel issues. maybe poor pressure or clogged injected. i didn’t get the pressure checked yet, but we replaced the 3 main issues, the ignition coil, ignition modual and TPS. low and behold the car went from 8-10 cranks to 3-4 cranks to start, and it would run to temp and once shut down it would start back up. so i plugged in the sensor under the air cleaner housing and put it all back to normal.. then tried to start it and it said no thank you. battery good, smell fuel, fuel pump working.. no start. i took off the air cleaner cover, then sprayed in some starter fluid and still no start. only thing i know was different was the sensor plug under the housing, so i unplugged it and it started right up. let it run and shut it down and it started up .. soooo... questions is .. why would this one connection cause a no start...

I don't have a '92 TBI manual handy, but just a guess - could the air intake sensor be bad?

While I don't advocate just throwing parts at a problem, they're not too expensive to replace on a hunch.

Any codes like a code 23 ?
No resistance on the mat/iat wire should result in a lean condition. You might want to install a mat then check your fuel pressure and for spark engine warm when it acts up.
