Re: ABS and Traction Off light on
Third gens didn't come with ABS.
If the warning light is on, there is a fault. Without using a scan tool to see what the fault is, you have no idea what to fix.

2001 Buick LeSabre. Just got rear brakes and front tie rod ends replaced by mechanic. We needed the car back as soon as he was done so we didn't give him time to test drive it. The ABS and Traction Off light came on in the dash. Was something not hooked up or is this a standard default that we can reset? WE only drove local and it seems fine, haven't driven at higher speeds yet. Hate to take it back if I can just reset this myself somehow.
When I.B. bought the site and decided that raw post count trumps actual content , the more posts , the more I.B. can charge the advertisers . KA CHING !!!! Can ya hear them dollars rollin in ?

IB is "Internet Brands" , a big company that buys up (formerly) private sites such as this , sites with good "foot traffic" , and then charges advertisers top dollar for their ads to be seen on the site . In some cases this may work out well , for instance a financially struggling site with good traffic gets to remain on line rather than go dark for lack of funds , but in other instances I've seen IB literally strangle the life out of what was once the biggest and most populated RC model airplane site , "RC Universe" , which has become a literal ghost town under IB's supposed "management" . Websites are a funny breed , the chemistry that makes/keeps them popular simply can't be dictated by a corporate boardroom or advertising dollar , mess with the formula TOO much and "poof" , RC Universe being a great example of the cautionary tale of just what can happen to a site with "too many cooks in the kitchen" .....

Ah I see now. Thank you for the clarification. I can see why they would want this domain - it does attract some traffic that isn't so computer savvy and would probably be enticed by click-bait. I don't think I've clicked a banner ad since about 1995. They are invisible to me anyway......
If anyone would like to make all the ads invisible:

If you connect to TGO without logging in, a message window will pop up allowing you to ask a question. Since there's no requirement that it be TGO related, users who somehow find their way onto the page don't realize that the forums are third gen specific.
Again, click-bait, ad revenue etc, etc.
I use AdBlock Plus and uBlock to filter out all unwanted ads. uBlock is a way to trick web pages that know you are using an ad blocker. On TGO, I still get a couple of small Featured Sponsor banners on the right side but they are not intrusive and I feel those are more of a paid ad anyway instead of a click bait ad and should never be blocked.
