Cold weather low idle/poor start/stuttering

Hey

When the weather drops below 0*C my 91z28 350 TPI has a hard time starting (lots of crank but won't fire) and when it does it's idle is low and the engine stutters under throttle.

I can start the car easily with starter fluid sprayed in the throttle body, (but still has poor idle). I've checked IAC and TPS, both are fine.

Car runs perfect all summer and is just a summer car. No trouble codes.

Any ideas on what is causing this?

Thanks

if everything else is stock and in good working order, my suspicion would be something with the manifold temp sensor.

a good scanner would help here... you could see what the MAT sensor is reporting to the ECM. an incorrect temperature reporting could confuse the ECM into incorrect fuel delivery.

yeah at initial start up the MAT sensor should be reporting ambient temperature.
