Hi I have a 91 z28 305 5spd.I changed my ignition module due to no start. It fixed the problem but when I started the car it idles at 2500 rpm.I noticed that these two pieces were unattached.Any help with what I might have accidentally unattached and where they go..thanks bryan
It also has been overheating quickly before i changed the module.Could this have been unattached for awhile causing the car to overheat. It looks like the hard little black piece is broken off at the end.
With them broken/disconn like that, the engine is seeing the same thing as the throttle being left partway open; they are letting air into it.
1st one is for the MAP sensor which is the rectangular thing its other end hooks to. Looks to me like the plastic line broke. You can get a little piece of rubber line to splice them back together, or a whole new piece of plastic and bend it with a heat gun. Just find the other end which will be a nipple on the side of the plenum, that it will reach to.
2nd one probably goes to the heater control valve which is the black cube thing in that photo. Similarly, look for a vac nipple on it that the line will reach to.
