Vortec valve question.

Engine: 383 Vortec TPI, PUTS SMILES ON FACE
Transmission: PATC LVL 3 Raptor Transmission
Axle/Gears: 3.27 POSI 9 BOLT
Vortec valve question.
So i have all new components for my vortec head, my question is, can i just replace the valves or will i need to get grinding compound to renew the seat or will i be ok to just replace the valves and move on to the next.

Well it depends on the condition but ideally you should have a machine shop do a 3 or 5 angle grind on them. Lapping them in is generally a poor substitute for a real valve grind and won't hold up over time.

The condition of the heads are good but was wondering if i could just slap new valves in it.

Lapping is not a substitute for cutting valves seats. Freshen up a valve & seat already ground correctly yes lapping will restore or improve a valve and seat grind. Now to make things more confusing the newer valve cutting machines are so accurate many shops will install newly cut valves in any order and overlook small leakage. But a good cylinder head rebuild will include leak checking the valves.
