piston to valve clearance

I am running a ZZ4 short block with trick flow heads. Now I only have a .015 inch head gasket and was gonna run a cam with maximum .503 lift. I think it will be ok, but you guys think my piston to valve clearance is fine?

duration normally plays a larger role than lift

I think car craft did a test on the ZZ4 motor with Comp cam solid roller. It had like 242 degrees duration at .050" and .560 lift... i think it was still using the stock ZZ4 pistons but valve clearance was near the lower limit.

Best to measure for piece of mind, but you are going to be fine, IMO.

be best to measure it, i do it without the gasket in place. from what i've saw you won't have a problem with flat tops untill you get over .600 lift, maybe even closer to .650.
