Changing Coil

Hi Guys,

Stupid question but I am changing the Coil (Coil In Cap) on my '86 305 Tpi Iroc.

Where do I smear the Clear Silicone Grease that came in a sachet with the Coil, I don't want to burn anything out

Any help appreciated.

4Boy,

The silicone dielectric grease should be coated onto the rubber washer that fits in the bottom of the distributor cap. The washer seals the inside of the cap area from the coil pocket, and the silicone makes the seal water- and gas-tight. Coat both sides and install the washer/seal, then install the coil and its cover.
