I have 87-95 engine originally tbi I got rid of tbi put Holley carb 600 on it. Was wondering a good cam for this Engine. No computer bs all that is gone no chip. Flame thrower distributor set up original heads. 4 bolt main . Weiand intake manifold. Can anyone help? Cam suggestions

 

The computer isn't the limiting factor to cam options. TBI heads you're still going to be LIFT limited due to valve seal to retainer clearance. Google it, lots of info available. Or you can pull a valve cover, mock up the valve seal and retainer, and measure the clearance with a caliper. Easier to Google.

Summit K1104 if it's a flat tappet truck engine. If it happens to be a roller L05 like came in Cadillacs and Roadmasters then find an L98, LT1, or any other roller with under .460 lift and you should be OK.

 

Thank you very much. I was told it was out of late 80s so 87,88, or 89 from a truck. I will build it up one day but for now what I mentioned is what has been done and the cam. I’ll get rid of those swirl heads probably get Vortec or maybe even dart heads one day but I just want it to have a little more sound to it. Again thanks for the cam information it is greatly appreciated.
