305 TBI Swap Out Suggestion
305 TBI Swap Out Suggestion
I have a 91' Camaro RS with a 305 TBI. I met a guy who has a factory rebuilt 350 TPI motor with 25,000 miles on it that was meant to go in his 89' IROC. The only thing he said it needs is an intake manifold but he said the one from my motor should bolt right up. Is he correct saying that it will bolt right up? Also if I leave it TPI would I have to change anything else? Or should I convert the new motor to TBI using my old motor? Thank you!

If your engine is a TBI, and his is TPI, I believe it's not a direct bolt on.
I would definitely convert it to TBI using the parts from your old engine, throttle bodies are almost always more reliable, and have far more potential for modifications, flow wise.

the motor will physically bolt in place, but wiring and computer are completely different. If you are using your throttle body and intake, everything will fit right in.
