Mystery Grey Connector

I am removing a dead msd ignition from my car and I cant seem to figure out what this one wire is. It is teed into my white timing signal wire between the coil and distributor. There is a gray connecter a few inches down laying on the passenger side valve cover. Is this a tach wire or something and is this wired correctly?

Re: Mystery Grey Connector

A picture would help, sounds like the ignition power wire and tach wire.
