Intermittent air conditioning blowing
Hi everyone! I've been trying to figure out an intermittent a/c problem in my '91 Trans Am and am coming up with fewer and fewer solutions to try.
My a/c blows very cold and works fantastically. However, occasionally when I turn, or decelerate, or accelerate (or really anything), it'll cut out and completely quit blowing. Sometimes for a while. Sometimes for a second or 6. Occasionally jacking up on the brakes turns it back on. Other times it'll just start working again. I can't find a completely predictable situation or explanation.
Additionally, the blower motor will work 100% of the time without any problems if the vent or heat are selected. The cutting out only occurs when the a/c or defroster are on.
I can't find a loose connection anywhere. The climate control unit looks fantastic from behind. The electrical connections under the hood are all tight. But I'm starting to wonder if the clutch could be failing after seeing this photos in a jalopnik build article. Is it possibly spinning, catching, getting stuck, and starting again? https://jalopnik.com/heres-exactly-w...bmw-1834776367
Has anyone experienced this before or have any other ideas?
Thanks for the help in advance!!

Re: Intermittent air conditioning blowing
Check the high pressure cutoff switch connector on the back of the compressor.
Ignore all the crap in those photos. Reality, to be sure; but if you don't have pieces falling out, that's not material to your situation.

Re: Intermittent air conditioning blowing
Thank you for giving me a new nugget of information to investigate. I'll research that and likely come back with some more questions. Much appreciation!
