EGR solenoid

Hey everyone. I'm new on this forum but have read alot of good info over time. I am now needing some advice of my own. Is a EGR solenoid from a Corvette L98 going to work and perfectly replace the fried one on my 89 GTA L98?? I managed to find some new ones at zip-corvette.com and that's the best I could do after much searching as this is a discontinued part.

Re: EGR solenoid

The c4 solenoid should work fine. It’s designed to mount on the t stat housing. The bracket might remove for coil mount.
or here’s another option.

Re: EGR solenoid

I was finding the corvette one was very expensive. Looks like now most are out of stock for whatever reason. I did a load of testing on these years ago so my memory is a bit fuzzy on it. Some solenoids have normally open ports without power and the others have normally closed ports with no power.
87(?)-92 tpi solenoids function in the opposite manner than the TBI and the B-body LT1. I'm not sure about the Y and F body LT1 cars though I don't know why they'd be different..
The Cadillac 4.9 was the same as the later tpi fbody solenoid that I had. It was much cheaper and more available so I used it.
