New Fed. Vehicle Scrap Program (didn't know where else to post)
I just found this on Camaro-ss.com. A couple of senators have introduced another bill to help promote the scrappage of vehicles 15 years and older, it would provide monetary incentives for states to implement a vehicle scrappage program. I don't know how to post a link, but go to camaro-ss.com/messageboard/paddock, there are a couple of links there to sema, where you can read about the bill and it will help you find your state legislators. We should all email our senators and oppose this, that 83 Z that somebody turns in for a couple hundred bucks, might have a crossfire hood, or the 87 just might have that engine you need. You get the idea.

I think So. Cal used to do this, they may still do for all I know. Not a bad program for old beaters laying around. IIRC folks got 500 or 600 for POS hunks of steel that they would have had to pay someone to remove.
It's not like they're gonna come to your door if you have a car that 15 years old and say "hey, here's 500 bucks, and we'll be taking your car".

Daze,
Welcome Aboard!
Interesting, indeed. Technical? Not really. Posts with no technical content are supposed to be placed at NEThirdGen.org. Mac has graciously offered to host all non-technical content from members of this board. I'm sure that forum would be interested in the news.
Since it's relevant, it only gets locked - not deleted. Thanks for posting. I'm guessing that a lot of our members will be interested, too.
(I have an opinion on that topic, but it wouldn't be fair to sound off, then lock the post so no one could reply.)
