No spark issue
No spark issue
Hi all, I installed a speed density TPI in my 69 Camaro however I don’t have spark. I have 12 volts at the coil and 10.5 volts while cranking. I’m not getting a flashing light with my test light at the coil while cranking. Small cap distributor with remote coil. I’ve replaced the coil, distributor, ign module, rotor and distributor cap with new so it’s none of those. Rotor turns while cranking. Used a noid tester on the injectors and those flash fine. Me cal programmed and Vats deleted by Scott Hanson. Using a Painless harness and AAW classic update wiring harness for everything else. Battery is fully charged and new ground cable connected right to engine block. Also have New ground straps from frame to cowl to engine. What am I missing?

Re: No spark issue
Is there high resistance in the wire that comes from the ignition switch ?

Re: No spark issue
Iirc you originally had points. The wire from the ignition switch had high resistance and the coil got 12v from the starter when cranked. If this is the case the wire from the ignition switch to the bulk head connector and to the coil needs to be replaced. You can use a ohm meter to measure resistance. Just a guess on if this is the issue or not. You can supply 12v from the battery to the coil to see if you get spark.
