Re: 113 head question

It depends, are you going to do the bigger valve upgrade too? CNC ported with bigger valves seem to do the best but the down side is the cost to do all that.
Unless you are going for a "stock" look, I'd bump to an aftermarket head.

Re: 113 head question

Yup, someone posted tpis flow sheet some place and they are good for the head. cnc ones I've seen are a tad better but probably not worth losing sleep over the difference unless you are going for max power.

Re: 113 head question

I'm pretty sure I have the flow numbers for the Weld/Hutter CNC heads somewhere around here but can't seem to locate them. Best I remember their numbers were about what you posted (maybe a little less). I did find the LPE flow numbers for their L98 CNC porting with 2.00/1.56 valves. Pretty sure their numbers were as high as I had seen published. So, you're heads should make plenty of power.

.200 140 116
.300 198 157
.400 242 185
.450 249 195
.500 254 199
.550 260 203
.600 263 206

No problem. He opened one up for me as well. Should bump flow up to around 1,000 cfm and be worth a few HP. I ran 12.6s with a 10:1 355 with a box stock FIRST and throttle body in the heat with 240-ish cfm heads and a flat tappet hydraulic 218/228-110 cam. TH350 and 3.23s with 10" Street Fighter. You'll have more cubes, better heads and cam, with more gearing - so I'd say mid 12s shouldn't be a problem - assuming traction.

Re: 113 head question

Cool..I was afraid of opening up the TB I thought it would hurt performance heard it might cause tip on problems like bogging..but also heard with the Holley efi should correct that issue..I cant wait to hear this run.. also do you know if the lpe219 cam has a nice sound to it?

I've heard of people having tip in problems but I've never had a problem getting enough fuel added to cover it. The only time I've heard the LPE219 was back in the early 90s. A guy bought a Vette with the 440HP 383 LPE engine with a SuperRam running that cam. Pretty sure it was idling rather smoothly around 750, which is what he wanted. I love sleepers so I like it as well. I had built a daily driver carbed 406 that was running 12.40s in a buddy's car. The Vette would jump out on him and he would reel him in right at the quarter-mile mark. However, I feel rather confident that the Vette was running a very conservative tune and had more in it.

I know he said he was going to use 36 or 30 lb injectors we have a walbro 255 lph fuel pump .. fast fuel pressure regulator.. it's going to be a map car and like i said a holley hp efi system that should help in tuning.. we do have a mufflex exhaust custom made 4.5 in 2 chamber flowmaster the car should sound good..I hope..lol

Well since this post we almost got done the 9 bolt started clunking so were upgrading to a S60 dana 12 bolt with 3.54 gears hope that will take the abuse...
