I posted this on Corvetteforums, but didn't get any replies... I need to replace the pump on my 4L60E trans (removed from a '95 Vette) and need to know if 298 or 300mm and also if Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) or Non-PWM? It's currently installed in a '76 Vette w/ the LT1 engine.
Is there any way to be certain w/o removing it first? Reliable sources informed me that it is MORE-THAN-LIKELY a 298mm, but '95 was a "transition year" for the PWM / non-PWM versions and could only be determined when removed. Are there any markings on the trans or ser#'s I can look for? I also have the VIN of the donor car... would that indicate anything?
Just trying not to use the shop bay it would need to be in for too long.
