Oil cooler tube stuck in oil filter?

I don't know when the PO changed the oil last, so I thought I would do it today. The oil filter was a major pain to get off, and when I finally got it turning, the silver tube that goes through the oil cooler came off with it. Is this a result of the filter being screwed on too tight?

Anyway, I can't get it off. I have no vise and I am starting to screw up the nut holding on the tube and I don't want to introduce a bunch of metal shards into the oil system. Is this piece available by itself? And where is the go-to place for parts like this?

Strap wrench, or grab your favorite grippy grabber. Stab an old screwdriver thru the filter for leverage, grab a tight fitting box end wrench, and crank the thing off.

Unless you get really lucky in the classifieds or deep in the parts catalog and a dusty dealer's shelf, you're going to want to salvage the original part. Or delete the oil cooler.
