Back up light wiring

Still progressing on redoing this 1983 Camaro. Again, biggest challenge is tracing and finding out what the previous owner has done with most of it.
The car was originally a 305, 5 speed. It now has a 355 with a 700R4. Under the car, there are 2 wires hanging, just bare ends, but taped together and tagged BACKUP LIGHTS. Is there a plug on the tranny that these with a proper harness plugs into? Trying to search it, see allot for the 5 speed manuals, but not sure now with the auto installed.

The switch for that in an auto car is on the shifter. It's part of the neutral safety switch. Should have a dark blue and a dark green wire in it. Look up under the console and see what you find.
