I recently sawped out the 700r4 for a nice t-5 and i have a few things to fix, id like to get the upshift light working if possible, does anybody know how to get that working also i had another question, the backup lights..... i know you can come off the harness under the console, but my car already had the 2 prong plug and wiring installed (factory), i plugged it into the tranny but no reverse lights, did the auto cars come prewired for both plugs perhaps ? The 2 prong wiring seems to go directly into the same harness for the auto 4 prong wiring...any ideas ?

 

for the reverse lights, I just tapped off of the wires that went to the auto shifter and ran them down the hole I cut for the manual shifter and plugged it into the reverse switch on the tranny.

I haven't tried to get the upshift light to work, and I don't really want/need it to work.

I find them very annoying and useless...

 

The first thing is to get is the manual memcal (auto's don't have the funtion) then you need to repin the tan/w/blk wire to the correct slot in the computer plug (F1 & F6 one is auto the other is manual shift light) next you will need to drop out the inst. cluster and put in a bulb. If the wire isn't there to the bulb you will have to put in a wire in the cluster socket and run it to the computer.

For the reverse lights, the wires are Dk Blue and Light green
That two pin plug you are looking at must be yellow & purple (speed sensor)
