Help!! Efi install!
Hey guys im new here. And desperately need help 1992 camaro rs with an 87-95 tbi truck replacement engine
headers, 3 inch exhaust. Im going to be removing the ecm. Havent decided if i will remove completely or move wiring off to the side. Im installing fitech efi easy street 600hp system along with a dual plane weiand intake and hei dist 3 or 4 questions
can i wire the fuel pump power wire from the new system directly to the stock relays wiring?
Can i also do this with the fan relay? The system controls fuel pump and will send the proper voltage to prime and turn on the pump but will this work since i am removing the stock wiring to everything but the required things to basically run a carb and those relays? T5 transmission. So no issues there. And can anyone help me figure out exactly what wiring i need to remove and what can all be kept please. Any help is appreciated i cant really find much and im losing it! Haha. Thanks guys!

The Holley ECM is going to need more or less all the same wiring that your stock one did; the same sensors; will need to work the same relays; etc. Mount it where your stock one was and put new ends on the wires or splice the new harness onto the existing one or whatever, and just use em. Piece o cake. Can't imagine there could possibly be any eeeeezier way to do that. Get the FSM for your car which will have all the OE wiring diagrams in it.
Re: Help!! Efi install!
Looking at the diagrams for this and my Astro Book. The color codes should be close to matching. Validate in an F-body book.
-You can almost certainly use the fan relay as-is. I'd check your book to be sure but it's a good bet. Not sure on colors for it.
- you should be able to tap into the DK GN/white wire coming off the FP relay to make the system work as is. That has the advantage of leaving your FP Safety Switch in place which would let you keep driving if the FP relay were to die although with extended cranking times.
-Ignition wise it looks as if there's a few ways to go. You NEED the big pink wire that goes to the coil.
-I would hook the pink/black wire on the car to the white wire of the FITech. That's key on hot.
-The big red wire should go straight to your battery as recommended. It seems that there's an internal fuse to the FITech unit based on the diagrams.
Otherwise it can pretty much all get cut out. Run the FITech Harnesses to the WBO2 (use your stock placement) and the CTS.
Lastly I would encourage you to run the integral timing. I don't see it in there but I'd reach out to their support. There's almost certainly a way to run a standard computer controlled HEI Distributor like what came with your car on this system. If you take advantage only of the fueling on this fella you're probably only getting half the benefits truthfully.
The one last thing that's not mentioned that I would certainly consider doing is running a really nice ground strap from your intake manifold to your battery. Doesn't hurt anything to do it anyways but more importantly you'll ensure good voltage to the FITech and your ignition system.
