Hey Guys

Is this a good engine to mod up to 250-300hp?,Im thinking of swapping my 305
Im not looking for crazy hp.

Re: L05 Questions

i pulled an L05 from a 1992 chevy truck. mine turned out to be a 4 bolt main. they are fine engines. they make 200hp /300ftlbs stock. easy to get up to your power level with a few mods. mine is in the machine shop being bored and stroked to 383cu. engine guy says i will be pushing 500hp.

Re: L05 Questions

For a LG4 car, it's a step up. Largely a drop-in if it's in good running condition etc.

Wouldn't hurt to put a better cam in it but it'll be better than what you've got (if it's still stock) even just as-is.

I'd say if you're not going to do that, don't touch it at all; just put it in. Take it to the quarter car wash and clean it up real good first.
